Slovakia, the hosts of the first-leg tournament in Pool E, continue their winning streak and with the third victory in Nitra they are a leader in the standings at the halfway point of the #EuroVolleyM Qualifiers. Albania did not make it an easy job, as they impressed with serve (11 aces) and very strong receptions (64% in the match, but it reached even 87% in set 4!). However, it was not enough to stop the team under guidance of Marek Kardos that showed their power in attack, totally overspiking their opponents (56 kills to 40). The home team played very balanced, but it was Peter Michalovic (20 points) and Tomas Krisko (18) being their best scorers, once Albanian Anton Qafarena topped the scorers' chart with 22 points.

- Although, Albania performed better in reception (59% to 29%) and service (6 aces to 2) in the first set, Slovakia led from the beginning to easily win the set.

- After strong opening (8-2), Slovakia fully controlled the game keeping the score safe until the end of the part overpowering Albania with 73% of success in attack in the second set.

- In the third part Albania committed fewer own mistakes, putting a lot of pressure with own serve they managed to win their first set in competition.

- Irritated Slovakia began the fourth set with 8-1 lead, but Albania managed to shorten the distance to three points at 10-7, their tried their best to fight back, but Slovakia proved too strong.

- Anton QAFARENA (ALB) was the best scorer of the match with 22 points, being followed by Peter MICHALOVIC (SVK) who contributed with 20 in his team victory.
