Overview

· The last team to claim the European title with a maximum of one lost set was the Netherlands in 1997. Only Yugoslavia avoided a straight-set defeat against Holland that campaign (3-1 loss in the final).

Germany
· Germany finished runners-up to Russia at the 2017 EuroVolley tournament, their only podium finish in the competition (incl. as East and West Germany).
· Germany are hoping to become the first country to win the European title after finishing runners-up in the previous edition since 2003 (Italy).
· Germany have won three of their last four matches at the 2019 EuroVolley, after losing their first two fixtures in the tournament.
·György Grozer (20 points) was Germany's top scorer in their 3-1 win against the Netherlands in the eight finals. Tobias Krick scored five points from blocks.
· Christian Fromm was Germany's top scorer in the group stage on 59 points.
· Julian Zenger is the second best receiver in the competition this far on 40.46% perfect receptions.
