The Croatians opened the first set well with a series of 4: 0. They held the advantage throughout the set, and at one point led 17:10. At 19:11, the coach of France requested a time-out, in order to try to contribute to the better game of his players with advice. In the end, the Croatian volleyball players put an end to the first set with a serve. - 25:16

The French volleyball players took the lead at the beginning of the second set with 7: 4, then with 17:11. However, the Croatians didn’t give up at any moment and managed to equalize the result at 20:20. The selection of France was determined to win the set, they made a series of 3 points, and then equalized to 1: 1 in the sets. - 25:21

Croatia struggled, but managed to find its game. This was immediately seen in the result, where they gained two points difference of 13:11 in the middle of the set. They had Samantha Fabris and teammates a little later and a bigger lead - 16:12, although the French didn’t want to give up. They threatened, at one point they had a minimal delay (20:21), and in the end of the set they gave in to the attacks of a motivated rival. - 25:22

It seemed that Croatia was going to win, and then in the fourth set, France woke up again. They were led by Gicquel Lucille, who took the fifth set with a great game and great attacks.

The fifth set started very excitingly. They played point by point until the middle, but France made a series of 5: 1 with the result 7: 7, which brought them even closer to victory. Croatia tried to return to the match, but it was too late. France came out as the winner both from this set and from the match and won a place in the quarterfinals. 15:12
