Slovenia still has some chances for the upcoming EuroVolley event: coach Chiappini's team left only one set for Latvia, unable to find its first success in this EuroVolley Qualifiers pool. 

After the first two sets won by Slovenia, team Latvia won the third set, thanks to 9 opponent errors and 2 aces. 

The quality of Slovenia emerged again during the fourth and final set. Sasa Planinsec (SLO) was elected MVP of the game: she was crucial over the net, with 4 kill blocks. The top scorer of the match was Marta Levinska with 27 points (23 attacks and 4 aces)

Pavel Selivanovs, Latvia's head coach: For the first time in these qualifiers, we were the way the team should play. It should be understood that we have been working together since April 22, that is, only three weeks. It may not be good that we lost, but it is acceptable. As time goes on, I hope we get better.

Alessandro Chiappini, head coach of Slovenia: It is very important for us that we won this match. In the first set they played ok, in the second they had problems, and then they lost the third set. In the end, we came to a victory and three points. We stayed in the game and are fighting for a place in one of the first two places in the group leading to the CEV EuroVolley. We still have matches with two strong teams, the Czech Republic and Bosnia and Herzegovina, I believe that if we play well we can win.
