2019 MVP Tijana Boskovic has been in great form for the Serbians, averaging north on 20 points per match, to a total of 83 (the third-most in the entire tournament) so far. Setter Maja Ognjenovic, ranked first in the position’s efficiency ranking with 74.36%, and outside hitter Bojana Milenkovic, third in perfect receptions with 44%, are the other individual standouts of the team.

On the other hand, the Russians have a young Arina Fedorovtseva who scored 67 points in the tournament - 9 of which from the service line, making of her the best server of the EuroVolley at the moment.

For the first time in history, the Serbian team defeated Russia at EuroVolley with 3: 2 (25:22, 25:19, 16:25, 24:26, 15:10) and thus secured the first place in Pool A. Although Serbia took the lead with 2: 0, it was known that this would not be an easy match. However, after five sets, Serbia celebrated at home.

In the first set, both teams started with a great fight. Tijana Boskovic won three points at the very beginning of the set and announced that this will be her night as well. Serbian volleyball players made four aces and gained a small advantage that allowed them to win the first set - 25:22

The great game continued in the second set, where the beginning and the advantage went to the Russians, but Serbia quickly equalized the result, and then took the lead with 19:12. They kept the advantage until the end and took the lead with 2:0. 25-19

The volleyball players of Russia didn’t give up, and Arina Fedorovtseva won 7 points in the third set and took Russia to the fourth set with good serves. - 25:16

The Russians continued to score points in the fourth set, with good serves from Smirnova Ksenia they made an advantage at the beginning of the set with 10: 8. The volleyball players of Serbia managed to reverse the result as in the second set and take the lead with 18:12. The Russians fought for every point  and managed to equalize at 21:21, then took the lead 24:22 and missed two sets of balls, but still managed to win the fifth set. - 26:24

There was a big fight in the fifth set, which was played point for point. Serbia managed to make a break and take the lead with 11: 9. With a great block by Mina Popovic, Serbia reached the first match ball (14:10), and after that, with its attack, it reached a 3:2 victory.
