Host team Bulgaria are currently second placed in Pool B, but have one less match than Poland. Team captain and outside hitter Elitsa Vasileva has been Bulgaria’s top scorer so far in the EuroVolley with 25 points scored across both matches.
It won't be an easy encounter for the Bulgarian Lionesses, as Germany are showing good level game at the tournament taking place in Plovdiv.
Germany have one victory and one loss (against the Czech Republic and Poland, respectively). In both their fixtures, they showed mental toughness and a will to fight. Despite Germany’s up and downs to start the tournament, opposite Louisa Lippmann and outside hitter Lina Alsmeier have both been in top form.

Louisa Lippmann"We are very happy that we managed to play that way in front of Bulgarian crowd. No matter who they root for, the atmosphere was really nice. Bulgaria has very tall attackers and blockers due to which sometimes it was hard for us to score. However, we are a very good team, we stick together, fight for each other which we again proved today. We didn't give up and stayed confident even when we lost those two sets. That was the key to the win!"

Emiliya Nikolova"It was a tough match. We could have acted differently in some key moments in the first set. Germany put us in trouble mostly with their strong serve. Respectively, ours was not good enough and they were scoring easily. We learned our lessons from this match. We still have our chances to top Pool B which is our main goal."
